LEN() Formula in Excel to count the Number of Characters in a String

The function LEN() counts and returns the length or number of characters that string or word contains. It counts characters, numbers, and special characters  also. 


Syntax:
  • Start typing the function as "=LEN"
  • Next enter the text with "" and press enter





Here is the simple example illustrating the use o LEN() function:





And, the answer is 16 as it contains the characters of 15 texts and 3 spaces.
